Read & Reflect
Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one, for the results can be much better. If one falls, the other pulls him up; but if a man falls when he is alone, he’s in trouble.
Also, on a cold night, two under the same blanket gain warmth from each other, but how can one be warm alone? And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer; three is even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
How does this scripture apply to your marriage? Reflect on this when you and your spouse come together for prayer.
Pray Together
Lord, our marriage is more than just a joining of our two lives. It is a unity with You at the center, with Your grace woven into every aspect of it. Forgive us for the times we have forgotten that. Too many times we didn’t have each other’s back and fell into bitterness and resentment.
Help us to remember that You are the initiator of our covenant and that our marriage is built under Your authority for Your glory. Be the center of our relationship, and we’ll not be easily broken. Amen.
