Have you ever wondered how we can be farmers for God in today's world?

While spending time with Jesus one morning, I was struck by the thought of our role in sharing the gospel with those around us and the role of God's Spirit. As in the Parable of the Sower, Jesus likens the new birth experience to tiny seeds planted in the ground.

And (Jesus) said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.

Mark 4:26-29, NKJV

While the farmer is active in planting the seeds, they grow and flourish under the blessing of God from seed to blade to head to full maturity. The results are obvious as the miracle of the Holy Spirit has caused this amazing growth, of which the farmer doesn't even understand how it happened, but joyfully participates with God in the harvest.

Like the farmer, our role of planting and harvesting seems so small in comparison to God's part of bringing about new life, growth, and maturity. But God is calling each of us to be a part of His harvest!

In what ways is God calling you to be a part of His Miracle Grow?
